Project 10 Pan

Okay, so I decided to actually get started on a Project Pan. Since I started this blog, I’ve whittled down my beauty products collection and even focused on finishing up a few products. But, I never set a goal or started an actual Project Pan. I decided to start with 10 products. Some of these are deluxe sizes. I wanted to make this first round fairly easy. I want to actually stick with the project and if the products will be impossible to finish, that won’t happen. I’m planning on working on these for 10 weeks. I should be able to use most of these up in that time frame, but we shall see. So here they are!

1. Ole Henrikson Ultimate Lift Eye Gel deluxe sample (.5 oz)

When I started to inventory my beauty product stash about a month and a half ago, I realized this completely untouched gel was going to expire in 3 months. So I started using it everyday. Right now it is probably 40% full. I don’t love this product, honestly. I think I would prefer a cream. I just don’t know if this is moisturizing enough for me. This would be good for someone with oily skin, though.

2. Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick (.08 oz)

I have had this for 2 years, so I know it will be going bad soon. I feel pretty ambivalent about this product. I originally bought it to cover up blemishes. However, this product is too light for that. I would need the next darkest shade as this is better for under the eyes. So that’s how I’ve been using it. However, I am not sure I love the formula for under the eye. It is a little thick and creases, so I end up blending out the area several times so it doesn’t look cakey.

3. Tre’stique Mini Shadow Crayon Marimoto Pink Pearl (.02 oz)

I got this in my June Ipsy bag and I’ve never used it. I have swatched it and think it will be good as a inner corner highlight or all over the lid on light makeup days. I think it is small enough to use up fairly quickly.

4. Tarte The Sculptor Contouring Face Slenderizer in Park Ave Princess (.06 oz)

I got this as part of the recent Sephora Bronze Bares All set. I was a little hesitant about using a cream bronzer. However, this pencil is really easy to use and the formula is SUPER easy to blend. The only downside is that it is an orange hued product, which isn’t the best for a contour. If this was a cool toned grayish brown? It would be holy grail for me. I should say that I have only used this product about 5 times. I’ve read in reviews that the stick is quite soft and it breaks for a lot of people…and I can see that. You have to be very, very careful about not applying too much pressure when using this product. And even doing that, the tip of this stick looks like it is about to break off. Stay tuned!

5. Too Faced 3-Way Lash Lining Tool

I got this in a Sephora kit maybe a year ago? I just pulled it out a few weeks ago and actually really love it! It’s funny, because NOBODY on YouTube talks about this product, but it really is amazing, in my opinion. The concept is that you can use this liner for tight lining, a very thin eyeline or a traditional cat eye. It really does work well and is very user friendly, even for someone like me who doesn’t have the steadiest hand with liquid liner. AND, it stays put. No transfer whatsoever to the upper lid.

6. Shiseido Perfect Rouge Color RD 305 deluxe sample

I got this deluxe sample as a giveaway from Sephora a realllllly long time ago. I do like it, I just was shy about using a red lipstick. It looks darker red in the bullet, but on my lips it is a pretty rosy red. The last year or so though, I’ve really gotten into bold lip colors. So I figured this would be a great lipstick for this project pan. It is getting old and I don’t want it to go bad.

7. Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee

This was part of the Sephora Glitz and Glam kit a couple of years ago. I didn’t use it for a long time because I was afraid of using a cream blush. Then, when I first started using it, I HATED IT! Because I’ve struggled with acne in the past, I felt like it clung to the tiny discoloration and acne scars on my cheeks. Also, it seemed really hard to blend. I have since figured out a way to apply it that looks great. I use my ELF stippling brush and swirl it on my cheeks then take a damp beauty blender to blend the edges. I still have SOME clinging of the product to my acne scarring, but after I apply my finishing powder, it is really minimal. As you can see, this is about 80% full. If I use this everyday, I should be able to get close to finishing it in the 10 weeks for this project.

8. Buxom Divine Goddess Luminizer deluxe sample

I got this as part of a 500 point perk from Sephora a couple of years ago. I believe it is 1 oz, but all the writing has rubbed off, so I am not sure. I do like this product. When I first used it, it had a VERY, VERY tingly feeling on the skin. Almost like the sensation of using a lip plumper on your face. So obviously I had to be careful about how I used it. I am not sure why Buxom decided that this was a good idea. What benefit does adding a skin irritant to the product have? At least on the lips, it can plump them. But for a face product? It just seems odd to me. Luckily, this tingly feeling went away after maybe 5 uses. Now it just acts as a cream luminizer. I usually use it mixed in with my foundation when I want a glowing look. For this project, I will probably also use it as a highlighter.

9. Sephora Eyeshadow Color no. 63 Under the Covers deluxe sample (.07oz)

I don’t remember where or when I got this product. I feel like it was part of a kit or it was a giveaway, because it isn’t something i would normally buy. Anyway, as you can see, it broke.When I used it recently, I found that it is actually quite nice as an inner corner highlight. That is probably how I will use it during this project.

10. Stila Lip Glaze Color Jingle (.05 oz)

I went on a bit of a Stila Lip Glaze buying spree a couple years ago. This was before I really wore lipstick, so I was obsessed with lip glosses and this formula in particular. Now having tried other brands, I can say that I don’t love this formula. It is extremely sticky and the packaging is a pain in the butt. Also, the color isn’t extremely pigmented, so there’s really no need to have more than one, as they look pretty similar on the lips, even if the colors look different in the tube. I probably have like 7 of these and I need to get rid of them. I may end up gifting them, but I did want to focus on using them as well. They are actually fairly easy to use up as long as you use them most days.

So that’s my Project 10 pan. I am planning on doing an update every 2 weeks. Here’s hoping most of these products are gone in 10 weeks!
